Black Bean Hummus is a riff on traditional hummus, a little bolder, a little edgier. The chipotle gives it a bit of a kick without being too much. This is fantastic with fresh pita bread, pita chips, or even spread on a tortilla for a wrap.
I have always had an affinity for hummus – all different types.
Here’s a few for you to peruse…this Roasted Poblano and Corn Hummus, this Sesame Ginger Hummus, and don’t forget Sesame Wasabi Hummus (one of my very favorites). Oh…and did you see my homemade pita bread? Check it out here.
This hummus is so good. It has that black bean bite to it, and a little smoky flavor from the chipotle.
I love smoky.
I made my pita bread again and made chicken gyros with the hummus, feta cheese, tzaziki, etc.
They were SO DAMN good.
Look how fluffy that pita bread is!
Naan would be fantastic, too. You should seriously make that when you get a chance.
Usually I like a little more lemon than half of one, but this version doesn’t really need it because of the chipotle, in my opinion.
You’ll see what I mean when you make it. If you’re like me and want a drop or two of good hot sauce, go ahead and drizzle some on top.
Here’s your printable-
